New Year, New Beginning

"You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down."

-Mary Pickford-

"Anytime we step out boldly to make changes, we take a chance that we might fail.  But the only way to get better is to try."

- Joyce Meyer -

New Year, New Beginning  I had an interesting experience recently.  I've had to give up two of my favorite yoga classes in order to make room for some changes in my life.  I so miss my students and our loving environment and rapport!  Yet, I know that in order to have balance and stability I needed that little bit of extra time for myself, as my husband and I prepare for a big move that includes downsizing, regrouping and lots of purging. As I find myself nostalgic and sad about my changes, I simultaneously welcome the new.  Although I know in my heart that there really is no going back, I also know that making room and opening my heart to the newness of change is healthy and vibrant.   I am looking forward to this new year!  I am also beginning a new Therapeutic Yoga training for individual sessions at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.  We are offering a series of free one-on-one sessions to qualified individuals.  For more information please contact me directly and I can put you in touch with registration.

My book has been published and you can order it on Amazon at:

Cobra Pose

This month's yoga pose is a focus on heart opening:  Lie on your belly pressing your hip bones into the earth. With your hands near your chest, elbows bent, press into your palms and raise yourself up. Open the heart and roll the shoulders down to promote flexibility in Cobra Pose.
